Mangaluru, Jan 21: Former MLA B Ramanath Rai said the Congress party had fulfilled the promises made in manifesto in the last elections.
Addressing the media on Saturday January 21, he said, “The Congress party had fulfilled the promises made in manifesto last time. Our party is ever ready to fulfil the needs of the poor. After the announcement of the Gruha Lakshmi Yojana, the BJP said that it is not possible for the Congress leaders to fulfil their promises. The BJP is anxious.
“During the rule of Manmohan Singh, the Food Security Act was implemented. Later on, nowhere in the country free rice has been supplied. Mid-day meal, pensions, Indira Canteen, Manaswini scheme, Maitri scheme and many other schemes were introduced by the Congress government. Even after this, we will be working to fulfil the needs of the citizens,” he said
On Nalin Kumar Kateel, Rai said, “He should not include Kateel in his name. The name of the holy temple Kateel is being tarnished by him.”
Congress leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Naveen D’Souza, Ganesh, Shalet Pinto and others were present.
