Udupi: Stranger promises job, youth gets cheated of Rs 1.4 lac; plaint filed

Udupi, Jan 21: A 26-year-old youth has been cheated of Rs 1.4 lac by a stranger on the pretext of getting him a job in a company that had advertised on a website and has filed a complaint with CEN Police.

The victim, identified as Nithin, son of Achyutha Nayak and resident of Bayarbettu Cherkadi village of Brahmavar, dialled up a number listed in the website after seeing a job advertisement on December 15, 2022. The stranger who picked up the call identified herself as HR person Amala Gupta of the company and promised to give Nithin an online job.

Between December 15 and January 6, 2023, Nithin transfered money totalling Rs 1,40,744 via Google Pay to the woman.

Nithin ended up getting cheated as he neither got a job nor a refund of the money that he transferred to the woman.

Nithin filed a complaint with the CEN police and a case of cheating has been registered.

    Hallo,I too have a job to anyone gives me 2lacs.Any one comes first ,pays more will get the job.Any candidates?It is so many times announced in papers and eachday some or other get cheated.Why pay money to anyone first ?Without knowing any details and identity why pay money?With this lacs self fellow could start self something .a small beedi shop or so or cold drinks shop .Is it so easy to cheat one ?One has to learn the lesson yet.

    Rita, Germany, I fully agree with your comments but that idiot who made payments to get a job deserves it if it is true. Because these days one cheater cheats the other. The only thing we people have to be careful of.
