Kundapur, Feb 4: Golden triangle bus stand built in memory of late Raghuram Shetty was inaugurated on February 3.
MP B Y Raghavendra inaugurated the bus stop and said, “The service provided by M Raghuram Shetty during olden days is commendable. As a panchayatidar he used to resolved the issues at the rural area of the litigations which were to be decided in the court. Building of bus stand in his memory is really appreciable.
“Kollur-Kodachadri cable car project has also got official approval. This rope way that is six km long if the first in Karnataka. It will be ready at an estimated cost of Rs 360 crore. As tourists will approach the cable car through this route, it will help in the development of this area also.”
Former chairman K Pratapchandra Shetty inaugurated the clock and remembered the contributions of late Raghuram Shetty.
The programme was presided over by MLA B M Sukumar Shetty. MLA Halady Srinivasa Shetty, trustee of Maranakatte temple C Sadashiva Shetty, former MLA Appanna Hegde and Chittor gram panchayat president Jayanti were present.
Dr Atul Kumar Shetty welcomed the gathering. Bhaskar Shetty spoke on the life of late Raghuram Shetty. Lecturer Akshaya Hegde Molahalli compered the event.
Wife of late Raghuram Shetty and other family members like V Sadananda Shetty, Dr B Narayana Shetty and Dr Kiran Shetty were present.
