Udupi, Feb 4: Deputy commissioner Kurma Rao M has banned traffic on Theerthahalli – Kundapur state highway 52 Balebare ghat from February 5, 2023 to April 4, 2023 as the concrete pavement work will be conducted on the road. The deputy commissioner stated that the traffic is banned during the period on the basis of a report and request by the executive engineer, PWD, Shivamogga division and considering the reports from SP, Shivamogga division, and the regional transport officer, Udupi.
Light vehicles proceeding to Kundapur via Theerthahalli have to take the route of Theerthahalli – Haladi – Basrur – Kundapur or Theerthahalli – Hebri – Udupi – Kundapur route.
Heavy vehicles heading to Kundapur from state highway 52 via Theerthahalli have to proceed via Theerthahalli – Kanugodu – Nagara – Kollur – Kundapur.
Both the light and heavy vehicles plying on Theerthahalli – Yadoor – Julikal – Kundapur route should proceed via Theerthahalli – Yadoor – Masthikatte – Nagara – Kollur – Kundapur (Heavy vehicles will be permitted only up to a weight of RLWA 16200 kg).
Traffic on Hosanagara – Nagara – Kollur – Kundapur will be permitted for light goods vehicles except multi axle, A/V vehicles.
