Udupi, Feb 7: Deputy commissioner Kurma Rao M has directed National Highway Authority officials to solve all the hindrances at Parkala limits for NH 169A Theerthahalli – Udupi four lane work and complete the work within the stipulated period.

He was speaking after presiding over a meeting at Udupi taluk office about NH 169A Theerthahalli – Udupi four lane works.

The NH division officials informed him about the court stay not to conduct road works at Parkala limits. “Sufficient public funds are already spent for the works. If the work is suspended during the monsoon, the work that is done already will be damaged and there will be severe problems for the movement of people and vehicles. The factors should be discussed through the advocates. Sort out the matter within the legal parameters and take all the actions for the smooth completion of the work,” he said to the officials.

“Pay suitable compensation to those landlords who lost the land for the works on priority. Set right if there are any discrepancies in their land records,” he said to the assistant director of the land records.

“The issues for the road works near Indrali Railway Bridge are solved. The orders are expected in a week and the work will be completed before March end,” said NH division officers.

SP Hakay Akshay Machindra, Kundapur sub division officer Rashmi, Udupi tahsildar Bheemsena, municipal commissioner Dr Uday Shetty, NH169A engineer Nagaraj and others were present.
