Minister Ashwath Narayan orders probe into alleged insult to Dr Ambedkar at Jain University

Bengaluru, Feb 12: Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan has asked the Department’s Principal Secretary to conduct a detailed probe into the alleged insult to Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar at Jain University in the city and submit a report to him.

"Dr Ambedkar is the architect of Indian Constitution and is revered the world over for his intellect. He has been conferred the Bharat Ratna award,’’ Dr Narayan said and mentioned that the staging of an objectionable play on Dr Ambedkar is ‘’totally unacceptable’’.



Any alleged insult to Dr Ambedkar by staging an objectionable play at the Jain University cannot be accepted, he said and pointed out that he has taken suo moto cognisance of the media reports and has asked the Department Principal Secretary to conduct a detailed probe and submit a report.
