Mangaluru, Feb 13: The day-long inter parish womens throwball tournament which was organised by ICYM Valencia Unit for the women of Mangalore diocese was held at Fr Muller's Indoor Stadium on February 12. Nineteen parishes from the diocese participated in this tournament.

Santhosh Sequeira of Santhosh Arrangers Mangaluru was the guest for the closing ceremony. Fr Roque Dsa, parish priest, Fr Vijay Monterio assitant parish priest, Ronald Rodrigues PPC vice-president and the animator of ICYM Valencia unit, Rita Menezes secretary PPC were guest of honour.

The final nail biting match was between Bondel and Cordel. The neck to neck match between the two teams led St Lawrence Church Bondel won the tournament with a margin of few points. Bondel was awarded with Rs 22,222 and a trophy and runners up Holy Cross Church Cordel were awarded with a prize of Rs 11,111 and a trophy. Individual prizes were bagged by Best Server Bianca Saldhana (Bondel), Best Receiver Vinitha Rego (Cordel) and Best All rounder Deona Alvares (Bondel).
