Puttur: Devotees file police plaint against Naganakatte construction works

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SS)

Puttur, Feb 15: Devotees of the Sri Mruthyanjayeshwara temple in Mundooru of Puttur taluk have filed a complaint with the police against the temple's controversial Naganakatte issue.

The temple has a history of a few centuries and is the centre of religious beliefs among the devotees.

Devotees have now complained against the construction of the new Naganakatte which they believe does not conform to the traditions of the temple which has been following the Asthamangala tradition. Devotees have complained that the new Naganakatte is unscientific and that the temple authorities had turned a blind eye to their objections in carrying out the construction works.

Devotees have also sought immediate suspension of all construction works on the Naganakatte failing which they would launch an agitation.
