Udupi, Mar 16: Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi celebrated Hospital Annual Day and Women’s Day on March 11 with great enthusiasm and fervour at the Town Hall, Udupi. The event was a tribute to the hospital's dedication towards providing quality healthcare services to the people of Udupi and to celebrate the spirit of womanhood.

Vidya Anand, an active contributor to the welfare of society, and Prasanna Padmaraj, a successful woman entrepreneur, were felicitated during the programme on the occasion of Women’s Day. The hospital recognized their contributions to society and commended their spirit of leadership and achievement. The event was graced by the presence of Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean of KMC Manipal and Dr Ullas Kamath, dean of MMMC Manipal as chief guests. Dr Padmaraj Hegde highlighted the significant role played by women in all walks of life.

Dr Anand Venugopal, chief operating officer, teaching hospitals of MAHE, Manipal, presided over the event and expressed his happiness at the role played by Dr TMA Pai Hospital in providing high-quality affordable healthcare services to the people of Udupi.

Dr Shashikiran Umakanth, medical superintendent of Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi, welcomed the gathering and shared new developmental initiatives undertaken by the hospital during the last year. He also highlighted the commitment and compassionate care provided by the women staff, which is an inspiration to everyone.

The hospital had conducted various cultural and sports competitions that brought together staff members from across the hospital over the previous three weeks. These competitions saw hospital staff members competing in a range of cultural and sports competitions, showcasing their skills and talents in various activities from rangoli to chess. Prizes were awarded by the dignitaries on the Hospital Annual Day.

The programme ended with a variety of cultural events presented by the staff of Dr TMA Pai Hospital. The event was a celebration of the contribution of women in the healthcare sector and recognized the tireless efforts of all the hospital staff in providing compassionate care to patients.
