Bengaluru, Mar 16: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday accused KPCC Chief D K Shivakumar of politicising toll collection on the newly opened Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway and claimed that the ordinary people were not bothered by it.

Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, he said the trouble and objections on the toll collection were not from ordinary people.

“The language used and the way he (DKS) has acted does not bring honour to any Kannadigas. He is unnecessarily making a controversy over the toll collection,” he said.

Bommai said toll was being collected on the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway even before the expressway was built and everybody knows about it.

There are many services on the service roads and no toll is collected on these roads, he said declaring that action will be taken against those protesting the toll collection as per law.
