Chennai, Jul 26: Veteran Tamil actor Ravichandran passed away at the age of 71 on Monday July 25 at a private hospital here where he was under treatment for lung infection.
Hospital officials said that Ravichandran was not responding to treatment when his pulse and blood pressure dropped because of which his condition worsened. He was on a life support system.
He is survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.
Most of Ravichandran’s movies were huge hits beginning from his debut in Sridhar's ‘Kadhalikka Neramillai’. Among his latest films were ‘Arunachalam’ with Rajinikanth and ‘Pammal K Sambandam’ with Kamal Haasan. He was last seen in ‘Kanden Kadhalai’ where he had the role of actress Thamannaah’s grandfather.
Veteran writer Ashokamitran said, "A lot of movies he acted in became huge hits in those days. He will always be remembered for his different roles."
