Bantwal: Ananthadi gram panchayat chairman attacked, hospitalised

Bantwal, Jul 26: Ananthadi gram panchayat chairman has been admitted to a private hospital after he was subjected to an attack.

Gram panchayat chairman Ganesh Poojary (60) was overseeing the cleaning of the road drainage when Congress block president Satish Poojary and his men allegedly attacked the former as per a complaint.

Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik has urged the police to take stern action against those responsible for the attack and also see to it that such incidents do not reoccur and that peace be maintained.
