Udupi: St Anne Church celebrates Titular Feast with solemn thanksgiving mass

Udupi, Jul 26: The Titular Feast of St Anne Church in Thottam was joyously celebrated on Wednesday July 26 with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass. Dr Leo Praveen Lasrado, rector of the minor seminary of Mangalore diocese and professor of moral theology at St Joseph Seminary, Mangaluru, presided over the Mass, which saw the participation of 37 concelebrating priests. The event was graced by Fr Valerian Mendonca, dean of Kallianpur deanery, along with priests from the deanery and distinguished guest priests.

Fr Joseph Martis, former rector of St Joseph Seminary, and the present Parish Priest of Derebail church, Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Senate Secretary, PRO of Mangalore diocese, and the parish priest of Bejai Church, and Fr Eric Crasta, editor of Raknno Weekly and the present parish priest of Cascia, were also in attendance to mark the solemn celebration.

During the event, Dr Leo Lasrado delivered ten commandments to the youth, children, and adults, emphasizing the importance of caring for the elderly and grandparents. Around 700 people actively participated in the celebration, rejoicing in the spirit of unity and devotion.

The occasion also presented an opportunity to felicitate Mr Leslie Arouza on his appointment as the Karnataka Regional Secretary for the Family Commission, as well as for being elected as the Secretary for the Udupi Diocesan Pastoral Council, further adding to the joyous atmosphere of the day.
