Mangaluru: St Lawrence Church & Shrine’s annual feast from Aug 1

Mangaluru, Jul 28: St Lawrence Church and Shrine, Bondel will hold its annual feast from August 1 to 10.

The flag hoisting and beginning of the festive celebrations on August 1st will be held at 5 pm followed by adoration, Mass and novena. The main celebrant of the day will be Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, vicar general, Udupi diocese.

From August 1 to 9, there will be Novena Mass everyday at 5:30 pm, adoration, Mass followed by novena. At the end, the blessed bread will be distributed to the devotees. Different priests will come and offer Mass and preach on the theme of the day.

The main theme of the feast is ‘Family is a gift from God, Let us live our family life gracefully’.

On August 10, the feast day, there will be 2 Masses. The festive Mass will be at 10:30 am presided over by Dr. Henry Dsouza, bishop of Bellary.

There will be a concluding Mass at 6 pm presided over by Fr Roshan D’Souza, the chancellor of Udupi diocese.

The devotees’ goodwill offerings and Mass offerings will be gratefully accepted. Blessed articles will be available in the religious stalls.

A special charismatic prayer will be held in preparation for the feast from 4 pm to 8 pm on July 31. The prayers will be led by Br Prakash and team, Divine Mercy Prayer Group, Bandra, Mumbai and Fr Cyril Lobo, director Divyajyoti, Udupi diocese.
