New Toastmasters' Club formed in Udupi

Udupi, Jul 30: Udupi Toastmasters' Club celebrated its Chartering Ceremony in Hotel Diana, Udupi on July 23. This is a unique club in Udupi and is formed with an intention to help the individuals to improve their communication skills in three different languages – English, Kannada and Tulu. Shilpa Shetty, the co-founder of Ishna Playschool, became the club's charter president. The charter members were inducted by the division director Sapna Shenoy, financial advisor from Mangaluru. The Charter Executive Committee was installed by area director Rashmika Rajaram. Shylaja Rao, general partner of Ventana Ventures and former COO of Robosoft was the chief guest of the ceremony.

Dr Gurumurthy, assistant professor from MIT was the master of ceremony. Kaniska Shetty, student of Alva's College, Moodbidri gave the welcome speech. Ranjeeth Shetty, the founder of Ishna Playschool, sponsor and mentor of the club spoke about how it was formed. The president gave the acceptance speech in which she shared her vision for the club. Hariprasad introduced the chief guest. The chief guest spoke about the importance of communication and requested the clubs to help the government school students improve their communication skills. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rajalaxmi Shetty.

Other executive members who were installed included – Shruthi Shenoy - vice president, education, Dr Vijay Negalur- vice president, membership, Laxmi Acharya – vice president, public relations, Ranjeeth Shetty – secretary, Laxmisha Rao– treasurer and Hariprasad – Sergeant At Arms.
