Kundapura, Jul 30: Former MLA of Byndoor K Gopal Poojary questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the Manipur violence and said that why was PM Modi, who mentions ‘Beti Padavo, Beti Bachavo’ in his every speech silent on the killing of so many people in Manipur.

Gopal spoke in the protest rally that was organised by block Congress committee against Manipur violence. He further said, “Our country is shamed in front of the world due to the parading of naked women in Manipur. President’s rule should be clamped on Manipur immediately and union government should take the responsibility of atrocities in Manipur.”

Speaking on the occasion, Vandse block president Pradeep Kumar Shetty Gudibettu said, “BJP and union government are trying to create their vote bank in Manipur. The state government of Manipur which should have put an end to the violence between Kuki and Maiteyi tribes of the state is a mute spectator of semi-nude videos of women.”

Vandaballi Jayarama Shetty said, “BJP, which says Jai Shree Ram every time, is silent when Ram is disrobing his wife.”

Vandse grama panchayat president Adakekoodlu Udaya Kumar Shetty also spoke on the occasion.

Sampagedi Sanjeeva Shetty, Udaya Poojary Chittoor, Nagappa Kotari, Sadashiva Shetty and others were present.
