Mangaluru, Jul 31: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader said, "We are planning to make Assembly and secretarial office paperless in coming days."

He was speaking in the meet-the-press at Press club on Monday, July 31, Khader said, "In the second phase, provision will be made for people where they can check the Assembly proceedings over phone and put up their suggestions as well and in third phase to strengthen the security system in vidhana soudha limits.

With regard to making Tulu second state language discussions have been held and we hope to get positive response from the leaders, he said.

He also said, "I share a close bonding with media as they have helped me to correct myself and shaped my personality. Media has been my constant support during my college days as an active student leader."

"Speaker is a friend of the opposition.Speaker does not speak but make others speak. Speaker is a friend of the opposition because they are not in a majority and we need to give them chance to speak on the lapses of government. When the proceedings are not going in favour of MLA then its obvious that opposition will have suspicions on speaker. Sometimes there will be discussions and allegations against one another, being in responsible position I should manage the proceedings," he said.

Khader said, "After becoming the Speaker I have resigned from primary party membership and now there is a restriction compared to earlier days to speak openly. Prior to resumption of Assembly proceedings we conducted a orientation programme for the newly elected MLA so as to build their confidence and to encourage their active participation in the assembly," he said.
