Bengaluru, Aug 1: The annual general body meeting of Konkani Catholic Sangh ,Yeshwanthpur was held on July 29 at Konkan Bhavan, Mattikere here.

The AGM began with prayer by Fr Sunil D’Souza. After the welcome note by the president George Mascarenhas, the secretary Robert Cutinha presented the previous AGM report, and the secretary’s report.

Tressurer Robert D’Çunha presented the tressurer’s report. Scholastic awards of appreciation were given to meritorious students passing 10th standard, PUC, bachelor’s degree and master’s degree.

The chief guest Silvian Noronha who is the president of FKCA spoke on this occasion and appreciated KCS for its good work and its wholehearted support to FKCA. He assured the same kind of support to KCS from FKCA.

Committee member Jerry Sequeira was felicitated in recognition of his exemplary selfless act of service wherein he took lead in helping a member who needed huge financial aid and guidance to go through a liver transplant surgery. The president George Mascarenhas was felicitated in recognition of his unwavering support to KCS.

The existing committee was dissolved and election was conducted by the election officer Fr Sunil D’Souza. The new core committee elected is as below.

Secretary – Edward Crasta
Joint Secretary – Kiran D’Souza
Tressurer – George Mascarenhas

The new president spoke on the occasion and expressed his gratitude. He requested for everyone’s active support and fruitful cooperation. MC Kiran D’Souza conducted games for the audience. He then gave vote of thanks. The AGM ended with a felicitation dinner.
