Byndoor: Minister visits fishermen's homes, condoles their death in boat tragedy with families

Byndoor, August 1: Minister Mankala Vaidya on Tuesday visited fishermen's homes at Karkikali and Uppunda who had died in the boat tragedy and consoled the families of the deceased.

Speaking to news persons, he said that he was pained by the tragedy. “I have tried to pay compensation to the families within 24 hours. Rs 6 lac each will be handed over to them. The MLA and the former MLA have demanded to spread 250 meters of break water on both the sides of Koderi port. It will be tried after discussing with the chief minister,” he said.

“A team has been formed to solve the problem of CRZ. Maravanthe works will
also begin soon,” he said.

Byndoor MLA Gururaja Gantihole, former MLA K Gopala Poojary, fishermen leader Madan Kumar Uppunda, Venkataramana Kharvi, Ananda Kharvi, Jagannath Mogaveera, S Raju Poojary, Deepak Kumar Shetty, S Prakashchandra Shetty, B S Suresh Shetty and others were present.
