Udupi, Aug 12: "World Bunts sports and cultural gathering World Bunts Sammilana will be held on October 28 and October 29," said Aikala Harish Shetty, president Federation of World Bunts' Association.

Speaking at a press conference herein Udupi, Aikala Harish Shetty said, “The world Bunts' sports will be organized at Ajjarkad grounds on October 28. The world Bunts' cultural fiesta will be held at Amrith Garden auditorium on October 29. Around 15,000 people from 150 Bunt associations will be participating in the event.   

"The event is being organised with the motive of uniting all Bunts under one roof. For the success of the event, several committees will be formed. A committee of young men and women, and a separate committee for women will be formed. Cultural event will be organised in Kanyan Sadashiva Shetty Auditorium. We have planned to felicitate achievers in different fields, owners of yakshagana troupes, and national-international sports achievers. Film actors and actresses have been invited to the event.

“A complex has been opened in the name of Kanyan Sadashiva Shetty, on a one-acre of land near Mulki national highway. Services will be provided to the families in distress at reasonable prices. An administrative office has been opened in the name of Praveen Boja Shetty there,” Aikala Harish Shetty said.

Harish Shetty on the formation of Bunt Development Corporation said, “An appeal was placed for the formation of Bunt Development Corporation during the tenure of the BJP government, and the same request was made to the present Congress government. The Congress party had promised for the formation of the same before election. The request will be made again. The formation  of Bunt Development Corporation will be very helpful to the community."

B Jayakar Shetty Indrali, chief secretary of Federation of World Bunts' Association said, “For the success of the event, different committees will be formed and duties will be divided among them.”

Karnire Vishwanath Shetty vice president, Purushotham P Shetty president of Bunt’s Association, Chandrahas Shetty president Bantwal Bunt’s Association and convener cultural committee, Girish Shetty Tellar convener sports committee, Dr Roshan Kumar assistant director youth empowerment and sports, and Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty were present.
