Kundapur: Geneva Convention Day observed

Kundapur, Aug 13: MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi emphasized the significance of celebrating Geneva Convention Day as a means to promote human values. He highlighted that a central tenet of the convention is the repatriation of prisoners of war (PoWs) to their respective home countries.

Kodgi's remarks came during the inauguration of the Geneva Convention Day event, held at the auditorium of Board High School in the city on Saturday.

The function was presided over by S Jayakar Shetty, while Dr Shubhakarachari served as the resource person.

Among the attendees were Natarajan, principal of Canara Nursing College, Satyanarayana Puranik, Sitarama Shetty, Shivarama Shetty, along with the office bearers of the Red Cross unit, students, and other community members.

Dr Umesh Puthran extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Dr. Soni expertly compered the event.
