Kundapur, Aug 15: “Remembering those who fought for independence is our duty. We have to also introspect the achievements post-independence. We are enjoying the fruit of the sacrifice of our freedom fighters,” said AC Rashmi.

Rashmi spoke after hoisting the flag at the 77th Independence Day celebration that was held at Gandhi Maidan of the city.

Rashmi further said, “We got independence through non-violence and peace. If this is instilled in our daily life, a beautiful India will be built. We should have the mentality of contributing something to the country. When citizens come for help, they should be sent away with a smile.”

In Kundapur also many elders have participated in the freedom fight. We have to remember them today. We should think that the country comes first then everything else.”
