Bantwal: Four men arrested for inhuman transportation of cattle for slaughter

Bantwal, Aug 16: The Vittal station police have apprehended four individuals for their involvement in the inhumane transportation of cattle for slaughter, carried out in a distressing manner.

The apprehended suspects are Ibrahim alias Monu, a resident of Manjeshwar Bakrebail; Moosa, also a resident of Manjeshwar Bakrebail; Hameed alias Jalal, residing in Bantwal Kanyan; and Hameed from Salethoor. Their arrest took place at Mulia, Alike village, Bantwal. The group was reportedly moving five animals in a goods vehicle bearing the registration KA-19-AB-1793, destined for Kerala.

Cases have been registered in connection with the incident under sections 5, 6, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Anti-Slaughter of Animals Act 2020, as well as sections 11(1)(a) and 11(1)(d) of the Prevention of Violence to Animals Act 1960.
