Mangaluru, Aug 28: “It is commendable that journalists of Ullal are indulging in social activities taking up the duty of responsible journalists and public concern. The district administration is bound to provide all the cooperation to them,” said deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Ullal taluk unit of Karyaniratha Patrakartara Sangha at Gatti Samaja Bhavan, Thokkottu, Ullala, Kapikad.

“The work of everybody has changed with the advent of mobile phones and WhatsApp. There are challenges in the work of journalists as anybody can obtain information. Journalists who are like eyes and ears of the administration have the responsibility of providing conducive information to the society in a proper manner. The journalists of Ullal need to innovate and put forth the decisions taken out of social concern and be the voice of the voiceless. Grama Samparka Abhiyan is amazing as it finds solutions to the problems of people directly. There will always be the cooperation of the district administration for coordination,” he said.

“A sum of Rs 10 lacs will be released from the MP’s funds if all the works of the sites of journalists of Ullal get completed, " announced MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

"District journalists have helped me to go to greater heights as the state president and MP. Support to Kshemanidhi and the education of students by unity in the era of competition is praiseworthy. Those who correct the social workers are deaf. I had seen one face of the journalists. The face of art has been unveiled today. We will be with you even if you criticise or hurl expletives at us,” he said.
