Puttur, Oct 26: The owner of a pharmacy in Mangaluru paid the expenses of a patient, whose medical condition worsened after the staff at the pharmacy gave wrong medicine.
Fatima (name changed), a resident of Uppinangady consulted a doctor in Mangaluru for nerve related ailment. The doctor gave a prescription for the medicines. When Fatima went to a nearby pharmacy in Mangaluru, they gave her a wrong medicine. Her condition worsened after taking that medicine and she was admitted to hospital in Puttur.

When the doctor at the hospital of Puttur checked the medicines the patient was taking, he was shocked to note that wrong medicines are given to her by the pharmacy. Family members of the patient contacted the pharmacy in Mangaluru and warned to file a complaint.
The pharmacy owner paid Rs 25,760 the patient incurred as expenses in the hospital at Puttur and also assured to bear the expenses of the medicines the patient is going to take for the next two months.
