Udupi: Ramesh Kanchan slams MLA Sunil Kumar for derogatory language in KDP meeting

Udupi, Nov 25: “In the KDP meeting, which is scheduled for serious discussions, MLA Sunil Kumar has spoken in derogatory language to the honest police officer of the district. This has put the people of the district in shame,” said Ramesh Kanchan, block Congress committee president of Udupi.

Kanchan further said, “In the KDP meeting which consisted of district in-charge minister, MLAs and high ranked officials, Sunil should have spoken about the development of his constituency. Instead he behaved in an uncivilized manner forgetting that he is a responsible people representative.

“Sunil, who was involved in high corruption in the previous BJP government and lost power due to ego and arrogance, has not yet learnt lesson. This shows that the BJP MLAs, who used to threaten the government officers during their tenure and all their illegal works done, are not ready to follow the rules and regulations. The manner in which Sunil behaved with SP is perfect example of this.

“While constructing Parashurama Theme park in Karkala, Sunil got bogus statue installed as the officials did not dance to his tunes. Similarly, during the present rule of Congress honest officers are not cooperating to his illegal activities. That is why he has resorted to threatening a senior police officer in KDP meeting.

“When Pramod Muthalik wanted to stage protest during the BJP rule, he was prohibited from entering the district by the very MLA who is asking now how people should protest.

“What did the BJP do to the person of their party who ran the car over the farmers who protested in Delhi? The whole country knows what you did with the wrestlers who staged protest. You remember democracy only when Congress is ruling. Do you have moral right to speak about democracy as you people demolished the houses of protesters with bulldozers in UP?

“Sunil Kumar should understand that right now Congress government is ruling in Karnataka. We respect our constitution and work according to it. We know how to protest. But we never seek help of officers for our protests. We know how BJP has taken honest officers to task when they were ruling. We have never obstructed the duty of honest officers. Threatening honest officers is your way of politics.

“Let Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar understand that the people of Udupi district are with honest government officers, including SP of the district. Let him cooperate with such officers in order for the district to develop in a proper manner,” he said.
