About the Book

The Indian tradition shows us that positive, radiant happiness is our birthright, and the programme outlined in this book illustrates how to achieve it for ourselves. The happiness quotient (HQ) is a concept that measures approximately, the measure of happiness each person has achieved in his life. This book provides a blueprint to increase one’s HQ. It starts by describing the creation of a positive mindspace, one that nurtures the positive emotions that increase happiness.

Anti-happiness traps, too, find a special place in this book. They require special identification as they can be very misleading, like a comfortable golden cage full of fruit, must seem to a free-flying parrot. The book speaks about all these factors, and presents the idea of happiness in a whole new perspective.

Would certainly like to lay hands on Dr Rekha Shetty's latest Happy book and know more about HQ.
Happiness is something that everyone wishes to have. Today happiness carries a price tag and is a big Industry .

But it’s not the richest nations or wealthy who are really happy. In fact Bangladesh , Nigeria, El Salvadore are some of the happiest countries. Whereas the richest nations are languishing at the bottom.

Happiness is just a state of mind. An individual who can decide and know his own limits and desires can be happy even though he /she may not be rich and having no luxuries. One should understand what normal unhappiness is and get reconciled to it quickly .

Events like sickness, death should all be accepted as normal happenings. Death of a loved one should be mourned and this allows one to reconcile with death and thereafter move on . Aspirations have also no limit especially amongst the young and one should learn not to compare oneself too much with others and be overambitious in today ever expanding knowledge industry .

The simple formal for happiness is not to be too ecstatic when things are seemingly going your way and vice versa when the chips are down not to be too sad .Everything situation in life changes and life is itself a passing show.
