Idea Launches 3G Services in Kashmir


Srinagar, Oct 19 (IANS): Idea cellular Wednesday launched its 'Gold Standard' 3G services in the Jammu and Kashmir circle.

To start with, Idea Cellular, an Aditya Birla Group company, will make its 3G services available in Srinagar in the Valley and in Udhampur in the Jammu region and proposes to cover other major locations in the region.

The services promise faster Internet, video conferencing, mobile TV, and IdeaMall Application Store, among others.

Speaking at the launch, Idea COO P Lakshminarayana said: "We hope mobile users in Jammu and Kashmir will connect to Idea's 3G services and avail a range of high-speed data services and roaming facility."

With the launch, Idea's national 3G footprint now covers over 1,600 towns across 20 circles.
