Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School holds Annual Sports Day

Mangaluru, Nov 8: St Aloysius Gonzaga School hosted its Annual Sports Day for classes VI to XII on November 6, at Mangala Stadium. National athlete Rithesh Kumar Shetty was the chief guest and Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ, rector, St Aloysius Institutions presided over the event.

Rithesh Kumar Shetty addressed the students, emphasizing on active participation. Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ, highlighted that students should keep trying till the goals are achieved. A spectacular march-past and opening ceremony was held.

Track events included the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m races, as well as shot put, discus throw, long jump, high jump, and relay events. Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ welcomed the gathering, Vidya Esther compered and Shilpa Ballal proposed the vote of thanks.

The Valedictory ceremony was graced by Fr Johnson Pinto SJ, correspondent and headmaster, St Aloysius High School as the chief guest, who in his message encouraged students to participate in sports. The winners were awarded with certificates and medals.

Sports Day for classes I to V was organized on November 7 in St Aloysius Ground. Chief guest Umabhagyalakshmi, a national level athlete encouraged students to pursue their dreams with dedication. Students participated in various games and sports events.
