Mangalore, Dec 18: 'Kudla Kalamela', an art exhibition displaying works of as many as 150 artists of Karnataka, Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh, was held here on Sunday December 18 at Kadri Park.

The exhibition was organised by ‘Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi’.

The art works were based on realism as well as on abstract ideas, explained Dinesh Holla, secretary of the association.

"It is an occasion for people of the city to appreciate the greatness of art. The specialty here is the variety of drawings by different artists, which is not found even in the galleries," he said.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Rajendra Kedagi, organising secretary, said that it was not only a platform for artists to display their works but also an occasion for the public to look for art of their choice from a variety of works. "Here, there is an opportunity to bargain as the artists accompany their work in the respective stalls," he added.

M R Pavanje was felicitated by the artists of ‘Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi’ for his contribution to art.

Earlier in the day, the exhibition was inaugurated by city police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh.
