NTPC reports 22% surge in Q4 net profit to Rs 7,897 cr; declares final dividend

Mumbai, May 24: In a robust financial showing, state-owned power major NTPC Ltd announced a 22% year-on-year rise in its consolidated net profit for the January–March 2025 quarter, touching Rs 7,897.14 crore. The growth was attributed to a significant uptick in operational income.

In the same quarter last fiscal, NTPC had posted a profit of Rs 6,490.05 crore. Operational income for Q4 also rose impressively to Rs 49,833.70 crore, compared to Rs 47,628.19 crore during the corresponding period last year.

For the full financial year 2024–25, the power giant registered a consolidated net profit of Rs 23,953.15 crore, marking a sharp increase from Rs 21,332.45 crore in FY24. Annual operational income surged to Rs 1,88,138.06 crore, up from Rs 1,78,524.80 crore.

The NTPC Board of Directors has recommended a final dividend of 33.50 per cent, translating to Rs 3.35 per share for FY25. This is in addition to the two interim dividends of Rs 2.50 per share already disbursed in November and February. The final dividend will be subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming annual general meeting.

NTPC, which functions under the Ministry of Power, continues to hold its position as India’s largest power generation company, reaffirming its critical role in the country’s energy sector.
