Bengaluru, Jun 1: A road rage incident in Bengaluru’s Bellandur locality took a dramatic turn when a woman riding a two-wheeler assaulted an auto driver with her slipper, alleging that he had run over her foot. The video of the incident, which occurred during a traffic altercation, has gone viral, sparking a public debate over road behaviour and justice.
The woman, identified as Panpuri Mishra (28), a resident of the city who hails from Bihar, was summoned to the Bellandur police station for questioning after an FIR was registered by police based on the complaint filed by Lokesh. During interrogation, she admitted to hitting the driver with her slipper “in anger” after a heated exchange on the road.

According to Lokesh’s complaint, the argument began during a lane merge when the woman, approaching from the left, accused him of colliding with her two-wheeler. However, Lokesh denied any contact, saying, “You can check, I didn’t even touch your vehicle.” The woman, visibly agitated, then removed her slipper and began hitting the auto driver in public view, shouting, “Make a video! Do whatever you can!”
Despite the woman claiming her foot was run over, the auto driver maintained his innocence and demanded a proper check before allegations were made.
Police have begun verifying video footage and collecting eyewitness statements. Panpuri was released after her statement was recorded, but the situation remains tense.
Auto drivers’ associations stated, “No matter the allegation, physically assaulting someone on the road is unacceptable. Action must be taken against her as per the law.”
The police have assured a thorough investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the viral video continues to stir debate over the safety and dignity of drivers on city roads.
