Puttur, Nov 11: Motorists travelling between Bengaluru and Mangaluru on National Highway 75 are set to face an additional toll soon, as a new toll plaza at Bajattur village near Uppinangady is nearing completion. The BC Road–Addahole four-lane project has entered its final phase, with the new facility expected to begin toll collection by April 2026.
The toll plaza, being constructed by KNR Construction Ltd, which holds the contract for the 46 km stretch from BC Road to Periyashanthi, is coming up between Valalu and Neerakatte in Bajattur. The plaza will feature eight lanes—four on each side—for smooth traffic flow, with separate lanes dedicated to two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws. Supervisors have confirmed that the work is almost complete and will be fully operational within the next couple of months.

Once the roadwork in the remaining stretches is completed, toll collection will begin. Currently, there are six toll plazas on the Bengaluru–Mangaluru route—five between Nelamangala and Sakaleshpur, and one at Brahmarakootlu near BC Road in Dakshina Kannada district. The new Bajattur toll plaza will become the seventh on this route.
With this addition, travellers between Mangaluru and Bengaluru will soon face yet another toll, likely increasing travel expenses. According to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) sources, an official notification will be issued before toll collection begins, following which details such as toll rates, local vehicle exemptions, and the agency responsible for collection will be finalized.
