Mumbai, Dec 1: Bollywood icon Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to social media on December 1 to commemorate two years of their blockbuster film Animal, sharing heartfelt posts and nostalgic snapshots from the sets.

Anil Kapoor posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos, capturing moments of preparation, discussions with Vanga, and glimpses of him in character as Balbir Singh. “2 years of a film that didn’t just release, it erupted,” he wrote, punctuating the message with a fire emoji. The images revisited the film’s intensity and highlighted the camaraderie shared during its making.

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga also marked the occasion by posting a striking still of Ranbir Kapoor in one of the film’s fierce moments, captioning it simply: “2 years for ANIMAL.” His post instantly drew attention from fans who continue to celebrate the movie’s legacy.

Released on December 1, 2023, Animal became one of the biggest box-office hits of the year. Led by Ranbir Kapoor, the film featured a powerful ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Bobby Deol. Bobby’s intense and transformative role became a cultural phenomenon, earning him the fan-bestowed title of “Lord Bobby.”

While Animal was lauded for its performances, soundtrack, and production quality, it also found itself at the centre of debates for its graphic violence and themes surrounding patriarchy and toxic masculinity. Despite the controversy, the film has maintained a strong fan base and continues to spark discussion two years after its release.
