Priyanka Chopra boosts Janhvi Kapoor’s message on women empowerment

Mumbai, Dec 6: Global icon Priyanka Chopra has come forward to amplify Janhvi Kapoor’s powerful views on gender equality, adding strength to the ongoing conversation on women empowerment in the film industry.

Priyanka on Friday reshared a video of Janhvi on her Instagram Stories, where the young actress spoke passionately about women recognising their own power. Praising her, Priyanka wrote, “It starts with a conversation so here I go. Preach Janhvi Kapoor,” along with a clapping emoji, drawing appreciation from fans for her gesture of solidarity.

The video was recorded during Janhvi’s participation in the ‘We the Women Asia’ event held in Mumbai. Addressing the gathering, Janhvi said that equality begins by using one’s voice and creating awareness among future generations. She expressed confidence that women are “unstoppable” and said that the world must learn to treat them as equals.

Priyanka Chopra is currently gearing up for her return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s ambitious Telugu film ‘Varanasi’ starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, scheduled for release during Sankranthi 2027. She is also part of the Hollywood feature ‘The Bluff’ and continues work on the second season of ‘Citadel.’

Janhvi Kapoor, who was last seen in ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,’ is presently filming for ‘Peddi’ alongside Ram Charan. Directed by Buchi of Uppena fame, the movie features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyendu Sharma and Boman Irani, with music by AR Rahman. The film is set to release in theatres on March 27, 2026.
