Zaid Khan defends Aryan Khan amid middle-finger controversy in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 7: Actor Zaid Khan has come to Aryan Khan’s defence following a controversy over an alleged obscene hand gesture at a public event in Bengaluru. Aryan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was accused of showing his middle finger towards the crowd during the opening of a pub on November 28, prompting a police complaint seeking an FIR.

Speaking to the media in Bellary, Zaid clarified that the incident was “misunderstood.” He alleged that Aryan’s gesture was directed at his manager-friend and not the crowd. “There were more people than we anticipated. Aryan’s manager went downstairs to manage the crowd. When he did not return for some time, Aryan and I stepped onto the balcony to check, and the gesture was for his manager. It was not shown to the people. It has been taken out of context,” Zaid said.

Zaid, the son of politician Zameer Ahmed, also explained that he and Aryan attended the event together after Aryan informed him of his visit to Bengaluru. He reiterated, “The gesture was meant for his manager, not for Kannadigas.”

The complaint, submitted by advocate Owaiz Hussain S, was filed with the Bengaluru Police and Karnataka State Women’s Commission. It alleged that Aryan’s gesture insulted the modesty of several women present, violated public decency, and caused discomfort, embarrassment, and emotional distress, portraying Bengaluru in a negative light. The complaint cites provisions of the BNS for obscene acts in public and conduct likely to cause public disorder.
