Mumbai, Jan 4: The grand finale of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 turned into an emotional yet celebratory affair as host Amitabh Bachchan bid farewell to the season, reflecting on his long journey with the iconic quiz show and the audience.

The episode opened with Bachchan welcoming viewers for the final time in season 17. Before resuming the game, the megastar shared heartfelt thoughts, saying moments in life sometimes feel as though they have just begun when they suddenly come to an end. He described starting the last day of the show while being overwhelmed by these emotions.

Amitabh Bachchan said spending more than one-third of his life with the audience through Kaun Banega Crorepati has been a matter of great fortune for him. He recalled how viewers welcomed him with open arms every time the show returned, laughed with him in moments of joy, and shared tears during emotional moments. Acknowledging the audience as the backbone of the show, he expressed deep gratitude, saying the game exists because of them, and he exists because of the game.

As emotions ran high in the studio, Bachchan lifted the mood by transforming the finale into a musical celebration. In an impromptu performance lasting over 32 minutes, he sang continuously, engaging the audience throughout. Viewers in the studio were seen clapping, dancing, cheering, and singing along as he explained the context of each folk song he performed.

The veteran actor sang several timeless favourites, including Hori Khele Raghuveera from Baghban, Rang Barse Bheege Chunarwali from Silsila, Chalat Musafir from Teesri Kasam, and Mere Angne Mein from Laawaris, along with traditional folk songs.

While singing the popular line ‘jiski biwi chhoti’ from Mere Angne Mein, Bachchan joked that the line was personal and should be sung only for himself, humorously adding that it could otherwise lead to arguments at home.

Clearly enjoying the moment as much as the audience, Amitabh Bachchan concluded his nonstop singing act with a special song penned by his father, the late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, bringing an emotional and memorable end to Kaun Banega Crorepati 17.
