Dubai, Mar 10: Tensions across the Gulf region continued to escalate as several countries reported drone and missile attacks amid the ongoing confrontation involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned a drone strike targeting its Consulate General in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, which caused material damage but no injuries. The UAE described the attack as a violation of international law and reiterated that it would not allow its territory to be used to launch attacks against Iran.

In Bahrain, authorities reported that a 29-year-old woman was killed and several others injured after a residential building in the capital Manama was struck, highlighting the growing civilian impact of the conflict.
Saudi Arabia said its air defence systems intercepted 14 drones that had entered the Kingdom’s airspace, while Qatar reported that 12 missiles were launched from Iran toward the region. Kuwait also reported explosions that were attributed to air defence interceptions.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force (RAF) confirmed that its Typhoon fighter jets shot down two unmanned aerial systems overnight. According to the British Ministry of Defence, one drone was intercepted while targeting Jordan, while another was neutralised while heading toward Bahrain.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence also said its air defence systems intercepted two additional drones targeting the Kingdom’s Eastern Region, preventing them from reaching their intended targets.
In Kuwait, the National Guard said its forces intercepted six drones in the northern and southern sectors of the country, amid heightened regional security alerts.
Commenting on the conflict, US President Donald Trump said the war against Iran would be a ‘short-term excursion’, while asserting that the United States and Israel had not yet achieved enough against Tehran.
“The world respects us right now more than ever before… the United States has by far the strongest and most powerful military on the face of the earth,” Trump said while addressing a House Republican retreat.
The developments come as regional tensions continue to rise, with several Gulf countries increasing security measures and monitoring the rapidly evolving situation across West Asia.
