Oklahoma City, May 19: Victor Wembanyama delivered a sensational playoff performance as the San Antonio Spurs stunned defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder 122-115 in a dramatic double-overtime clash in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
In one of the most thrilling games of the NBA playoffs this season, the 22-year-old French star dominated both ends of the floor, finishing with 41 points and 24 rebounds to help the Spurs steal home-court advantage.

The contest at the Paycom Center witnessed multiple momentum swings, two overtime periods and standout performances from several stars before Wembanyama finally took control in the closing moments.
Every time the Thunder appeared ready to take command, Wembanyama responded with crucial plays, including blocks, long-range shooting and key baskets under pressure.
The defining moment came late in the first overtime when Wembanyama drilled a deep three-pointer to force a second overtime, silencing the home crowd and keeping San Antonio alive.
He then scored nine of the Spurs’ 14 points in the second overtime to seal the victory.
Oklahoma City star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struggled early in the game and managed only four points in the first half. However, he recovered strongly in the later stages and helped the Thunder erase a double-digit deficit in regulation.
Despite the comeback effort, Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 24 points on an inefficient shooting night.
Veteran guard Alex Caruso emerged as a surprise standout performer for Oklahoma City, producing one of the best playoff performances of his career.
Caruso scored a team-high 31 points in just 32 minutes while converting eight three-pointers from 14 attempts. He also contributed defensively by guarding Wembanyama and disrupting passing lanes throughout the contest.
However, the Thunder failed to contain Wembanyama in the closing stages as San Antonio secured a crucial road victory.
The Spurs now lead the Western Conference Finals series 1-0, with Game 2 scheduled to take place on Thursday.
