Goa Airbnb host shares video of trashed apartment, sparks debate over guest behaviour

Panaji, Jul 16: An Airbnb host in Goa has sparked a discussion online after sharing a video showing the condition in which guests allegedly left her apartment after a four-day stay.

In the video posted on Instagram, the host gave a tour of her 2BHK apartment in Calangute, showing leftover food scattered across surfaces, dirty dishes piled in the kitchen and tables, empty bottles, wrappers and chips lying on the floor.

Describing the condition of the apartment, the host compared it to a "kachra peti" (garbage dump) and questioned how guests could leave a rented property in such a state.

The host said the guests had booked the apartment for four days and that cleaning services were also arranged once during their stay. However, she claimed that the apartment was again left in complete disarray after their departure.

"We even got the place cleaned in the middle of their stay, but they have turned it into a garbage dump. There is waste in every corner," she said in the video.

She added that her cleaner had already removed the beer bottles left behind by the guests and urged visitors to be more responsible while staying at rental properties.

The host further claimed that when she questioned the guests about the condition of the apartment, they allegedly dismissed the issue, saying that it was only a small mess.

The video has since gone viral, with several social media users expressing concern over cleanliness and civic responsibility among tourists.

Many users joined the discussion, calling for greater respect towards hospitality workers and property owners who provide accommodation to travellers.
