Udupi, Sep 10: The week-long ‘Vanasuma Jaycee Week’ was inaugurated at Muddana Mantapa, MGM College, Udupi, on Wednesday, September 9.
JFS CA Gowrish Bhargav, National coordinator, JCI Week 2026, inaugurated the celebrations. As part of the event, the teaser of ‘Kovi Mattu Kolalu’, a feature film produced by Emperia Corporation, was released by noted filmmaker J P Thuminad. The film is directed by Basuma Kodagu.















Speaking on the occasion, Gowrish Bhargav said JCI India has been organising JCI Week for the past 37 years, with seven different programmes being conducted over seven days.
Chief guest and former president of Udupi Temple City Jaycees, Nagaraj Hebbar, recalled his association with the Jaycee movement and appreciated the efforts of JFM Pallavi Kodagu and her team in organising programmes aimed at bringing positive change to society.
Following the teaser release, JP Thuminad praised the production quality of ‘Kovi Mattu Kolalu’ and the performances of its actors. He appreciated the involvement of talented artistes and technical crew from the region and wished the film success.
The programme also featured a staging of the play ‘Chatrapathi Shivaji’, directed by Vijaykumar Kodialbail.
JFM Pallavi Kodagu, president, JCI Udupi City; JC Vinay Acharya Mundkur, president, Vanasuma Vedike; JC Basuma Kodagu, president, Vanasuma Trust; Nishan K Bhandary, president, Govardhanagiri Co-operative Society, and others were present.
The Jaycee Week will continue with a series of programmes. Youth Leadership and Voice Day will be observed on September 10, followed by Human Duties & Digital Outreach Day on September 11, Business & Network Growth Day on September 12, Membership Expansion Day on September 13, Family Bonding Day on September 14 and the grand finale, Honouring Heroes & Silent Stars Day, on September 15.
The week will also feature magic shows, dramas, dance performances, Yakshagana and other cultural programmes. An Anyony¬a Dampathi Spardhe (couples’ contest) will be held on September 13 at 4 pm.
