Mangalore: SJEC Electronics and Communication Dept to Organize 'Prodigi'

Mangalore, Aug 13: Electronics and Communication Department of SJEC organized the annual inauguration of student association, 'Prodigi' on Monday, August 6 at 4pm at Fr Fred Memorial Hall.

Fr Joseph Lobo, director, SJEC presided over the function. Fr Rohith D’costa, assistant director, Dr Rio D’souza, dean academics were the guests of honours.  Professor Nityananda, head of department, electronics and communication department and Veena Devi V S coordinator, Prodigi were also present on the dais.

The new president of Prodigi Christina Koland welcomed the dignitaries. The student association was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp. Fr Joseph Lobo, director addressed the students and encouraged them to take active interest in the association activities and also assured them the managements support. Professor Nityananda, in his address stressed on the need for the students to present more technical papers and be actively involved with the association activities.

Lime light on 'Prodigi' activities for the academic year 2011-2012 and plan of activities for the new semester was presented by the Alison Veigas, chief editor, department newsletter, 'Prodigi Express'

The newly appointed office bearers were felicitated by the dignitaries. The office bearers for the new academic year 2012-13 are:

Vice President    :  Sandesh Nayak
Secretary           :  Vimalesh Rao
Treasurer           :   Shravya Rao
Chief Editors      :  1) Alison Veigas
                         :  2). Sheikh Sanath Ali

The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Sheikh Sanath Ali, (Chief Editor, Department newsletter 'Prodigi Express'). Anujna N compered he program.
