Global lawmakers delegation visits Bengal assembly


Kolkata, Dec 2 (IANS): A 55-member parliamentary delegation from 23 different countries Monday visited the West Bengal Assembly and interacted with its members.

The delegation, comprising law makers from countries like Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Bangladesh, watched house proceedings and were felicitated by state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee.

The delegates are on a tour of the world's largest democracy to gain experience on the the functioning of the parliamentary system in India.
