Kathmandu, May 22: Twenty-eight people, including six Indian nationals, have successfully scaled Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain peak.

The Border Security Force team Everest Expedition 2005 led by Sharab Chandu Negi, reached the summit on Saturday at 6 a.m. from the Nepalese side.

Others who successfully scaled the 8,848 m peak include Loveraj Singh Dharmshaktu, Kamlesh Kumar Bount, Praveen Singh Lohis, Kedar Singh, Bhagat Singh Rawat and Manoj Dahal, all government employees.

Six high altitude Sherpa guides also scaled the world’s highest team with them, according to Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Six more Sherpa guides also successfully ascended to the summit along with seven other international climbers under the banner of Alpine Ascents International Mt Everest Expeditions 2006.

Two Sherpa guides reached the peak from two different expeditions on the same day, the ministry said.
