Kasargod, Mar 29: A second year degree student who attempted suicide after allegations of theft were leveled against her died in a Mangalore hospital on Saturday March 29.

The student is Shamseena (19), daughter of Zakeer, a resident of Uduma Pakyar.

The mobile phone of Shamseena’s classmate was reportedly stolen two weeks ago and some students alleged that she had stolen it. Sources said that allegations were made against her on Facebook too, which added to the harassment.

Unable to bear the mental agony, Shamseena tried to commit suicide by hanging on March 19 at her residence. Her family immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Kanhangad.

As her condition was critical, she was shifted to a hospital in Mangalore. She died while under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Bekal police have registered a case and are investigating.

Well it would be more ideal to convince her parents to get the phone and throw it at their face, than kill yourself, it's sad that she did do so.

They should get avast antivirus theft protection or something which will locate lost devices and send a message when the Sims changed and the new number.

    Well, what's done is done,
    Inna lillahi wa inna ilahirrajihoon.

How sad a Young Girl committed suicide because someone accused her of stealing a simple mobile. Can anybody guarantee that she had seen steeling it?what a effect it had put in Facebook. This world famous F.B. has taken so many lifes.specially students make other students lifes to hell .many can not bare that humiliation and think only to avoid it is best suecide. This FB. is besides good communication method ,brought many students in difficulty.Only if this Girl had told her parents about it,could have helped.but sometimes parents also can have a eye on their filius what they are doing in net may prevent certain bad situations. My heartfelt sympathy to the Family. And let that Student who is cause of all this should set things up right.

The character assassination is a worst way of dealing with any one and it remains as cancerous with the victim. Epidemically it spreads thru media starting from gossips.
Whoever, branded her should be punished and also the first person who put on Facebook. This is worse than heinous crime.
The modern world is lacking love and understanding.
And being UNLOVED is more dangerous than any kind of sickness.

The modern day syllabus doesn't teach much of human value. Students are busy wasting the remaining time in Facebook, Whatsapp & other entertainments instead of learning and understanding how the famous personalities including patriots of the past lead their life.
All of these including lack of patience lead to such a situation that the students feel in secured and take such harsh steps.

    RIP...

I feel the reason she took the extreme step is to prove that she hasn't done anything wrong, which may be the fact. Its very unlikely to steal and then to suicide .The mental agony she must have faced for no fault of her's might have prompted her to take the step.Again, this is just my thought on this.May Allah grant her maghfirat.Ameen...

RIP!! One should know that the slip of the tongue has more power than a slap on the face, the wounds caused by words is very difficult to erase!!

Giving up God granted life for a an ordinary mobile whether it was stolen or not was too too heavy a price to pay!!

It is very pity and sad news. In case it is true that the allegations were posted in Facebook, then the culprits who did this should be put behind bars for a minimum of 1 to 2 years. Making such an allegation for a petty thing, irrespective of robbery took place or not, should be condemned by all and a thorough investigation must be carried out, with appropriate action in place at the soonest.

You have undoubtedly heard the phrase, “Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.”

But is it accurate? Let’s dissect it.

First off, ending your life via suicide is permanent. No question about it. There is no going back – once you are dead, you are dead. You can’t undo anything at that point.

So the word “permanent” is both accurate and VERY powerful.

Now, let’s examine the word “solution.”

The word is clearly NOT accurate. Okay, I understand the gist, but suicide is not a “solution” to anything.
