PSB drub Indian Railways in hockey meet


Chennai, July 21 (IANS): Punjab and Sind Bank handed a 3-1 defeat to Indian Railways in a pool B match of the 89th MCC-Murugappa Gold Cup All-India hockey tournament here on Tuesday.

Goals by Ranjodh Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Sravanjit Singh set up PSB's victory while Railways drew some consolation from Stanli Mint's strike.

Earlier, Karnataka Hockey and Mumbai Hockey shared four goals in a 2-2 draw. Twin strikes by Thimanna for Karnataka and Mumbai's Harjeet Singh ensured a draw.
