Mumbai, Sep 20 (Agencies): The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) selection panel have announced India’s squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. India is set to play three T20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and four Test matches in the Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela series which is set to start from October 2. However, the squad is announced only for the three-match T20 series and first three ODIs.

The Sandeep Patil-led selection panel made the announcement in the BCCI office in Mumbai on Sunday. Virat Kohli is set to lead the Test series, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be leading India in the limited overs format – T20Is and ODIs. India have never managed to beat South Africa in a Test series.

India come into the series at the back of a 2-1 win in Sri Lanka, the series which also witnessed Kumar Sangakkara playing his final match. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri, India have adopted a more aggressive approach to their game. They have made the decision to play with five bowlers evident, with the Director of Cricket Ravi Shastri saying that ‘draw is not an option’
