Denmark to host 2017 European Short Course Swimming Championships

Copenhagen, Oct 10 (IANS): Copenhagen will be the site of the European Short Course Championships in 2017. It will be second time in four years that the country will organize the annual tournament after hosting the 2013 edition at the Jyske Bank Boxen, one of the country's premier sporting venues, in Herning.

Pia Holmen, the head of Danish Swimming Federation, said on Friday that Denmark's bid for the championships is based upon a solid success in 2013, Xinhua reported.

"With the experiences in hosting the event in 2013, we feel well prepared to set about the task," said Holmen.

The 2017 edition will be staged in the upcoming Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

The European Short Course Swimming Championships are an annual swimming event, organised by the European Swimming Federation.
