Indonesia to send top shuttlers to Europian tournaments


Jakarta, Oct 10 (IANS): Top Indonesian badminton players will take part in the tournaments in Denmark, French and Germany this year.

The players will vie at the Denmark Open from October 13-18, French Open from October 20-25, and Grand Prix Gold Bitburger in Germany from October 27 to November 1, said Rexy Mainaky, a senior official of the Indonesian Badminton Association, Xinhua reported.

"The preparation by the players is good so far," he said at the badminton training center.

For the men's singles, Indonesia will send Tommy Sugiarto, Dioysous Hayom Rumbaka, and Andre Kurniawan Tedjono, said Rexy.

Sugiarto and Rumbaka will vie at the three tournaments, but Tedjono will only vie at Demanrk Open and French Open, the official said.

For the women's singles, Indonesia will send Linda Wenifanetri and Maria Febe Kusumastuti to all the tournament, said Rexy.

For the men's doubles, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwardi will vie at Demark Open and French Open.

For the women's doubles, Indonesia will send Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari to Denmark Open and French Open, and Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth/Variella Aprilsari Putri to French Open and Bitburger Open.

For the mixed doubles, the pairs of Tantowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir will vie at Denmark Open and French Open, Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto will vie at all the three tournaments, Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili will vie at Denmark Open, and Edi Subakti/Gloria Emanuelle Wiodjaja will vie at French Open and Bitburget Open, said Rexy.
