Mangalore, Nov 2: Shout at the top of your voice and give a loud message in order to preserve Kannada language and culture, said MCC joint commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde here on Thursday November 1.

He was speaking at the rally organized by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, DK district unit, from Talapady to Kadri, as part of the Kannada Rajyostsava celebrations here on Thursday November 1.

Ajith Kumar after hosting the flag of the Vedike unveiled the name plaque of “Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai” to rename Navbharath Circle.

Vedike member Santhosh Kumar Shetty said that in attaining a classical status for the state language, the attitude of the Kannadigas and those of Tamil Nadu is quite different. The Kannadigas have lost regard for their language and culture, he lamented. Owing to this Kannada will vanish soon, he expressed his fear.

What we do in our homes and in our surroundings are important, said IOC office-bearer Ullas Kamath. He urged that Vedike must keep itself away from politics.

Office-bearers Gopalkrishna and Vedike DK district unit president were present.
